On September 30, 2024, the Kia Yusuf Foundation was represented at the UN Day Humanitarian Awards Gala, an international event recognizing individuals and organizations contributing to global progress in areas including gender equality, children’s rights, education, and sustainability.
The evening honored leaders whose work has had significant impact across humanitarian and development sectors. Among those recognized were William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies, acknowledged for his advocacy in advancing women’s empowerment, and Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, recognized for her leadership in defending children’s rights worldwide.
The event was attended by representatives from across humanitarian, public service, and philanthropic sectors, including Karlie Kloss, known for her support of women’s education initiatives, and Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women.
