  • 95 critical surgeries performed, including 50 life-saving operations and 30 pediatric interventions.

The Challenge We Address

Our work focuses on Côte d’Ivoire, a nation facing significant challenges. As UNICEF reported in 2018, “Côte d’Ivoire is among the hardest places for a child to survive, where access to basic health and education remains a distant dream for many.”
The country has experienced two civil wars (2002-2007 and 2010-2011), which displaced over 1 million people and severely damaged infrastructure, particularly in healthcare and education. In Côte d’Ivoire(Ivory Coast):

27 million, with over 60 distinct ethnic groups

Under-5 Mortality

A child dies every 15 minutes from preventable diseases

Economic Struggles

39% of the population lives below the national poverty line

Maternal Mortality

617 per 100,000 live births

Healthcare Access

Only 50% of the population has access to basic healthcare services

Education

75% of destroyed schools rebuilt post-civil wars, but rural areas still face challenges

Women's Employment

Only 35% of women are employed in formal sectors
